Day 3 •Refined by his Grace •Finding Purpose in the Pain

💎 Day 3| Finding Purpose in the Pain

If you would have told me months ago that my pain would become part of my purpose, I don’t think I would have believed you.

When I came home from the hospital, confused and scared, I didn’t feel strong or spiritual — I felt broken. I didn’t remember what happened. I didn’t understand why.

But looking back, I can see something I couldn’t see then: God was working even in the silence.

He was still writing my story — even when I couldn’t remember the pages.

Through every tear, every wave of frustration, and every quiet night wondering why this happened, I’ve started to realize that pain doesn’t mean God’s absence. Sometimes, it’s the very place where He reveals His presence most clearly.

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done.” – Genesis 50:20

That verse has been my anchor lately. Joseph said those words after years of betrayal, hardship, and confusion — yet he could look back and see purpose woven through the pain.

And that’s what I’m beginning to see too. My seizure, my short term memory loss, the fear — none of it was wasted. God has been using it to shift my heart, renew my focus, and remind me that my story belongs to Him.

It’s not about what I lost. It’s about what He’s restoring.

Maybe your pain feels meaningless right now. Maybe you’re in a season that doesn’t make sense. But I promise — nothing is wasted in the hands of a faithful God. He’s not just healing you; He’s shaping you. Refining you. Strengthening you for something greater than you can see.

You may not understand the “why,” but someday, you’ll look back and see His fingerprints all over it.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” – Romans 8:28

Your pain has a purpose — and your story will help someone else find hope in theirs.

💭 Reflection:

Think about a painful moment in your life that still feels unresolved.

What might God be teaching you through it — or preparing you for because of it?

🙏🏽 Prayer:

Lord, I don’t always understand why certain things happen, but I trust that You do. Help me to see purpose where I’ve only seen pain. Use my story to bring You glory and to help others see Your grace. When I grow weary, remind me that You are still working — even in the waiting, even in the hurting. Thank You for turning ashes into beauty and sorrow into strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
