💎 Day 21 – When Dreams Change
There have been dreams in my life that I held onto with everything in me. I had plans… real plans. I had a picture in my mind of what my life would look like, what I would become, and how things were “supposed” to go. And for a long time, I thought those dreams were unshakable.
But life has a way of shifting underneath your feet.
People change. Seasons change. You change.
And suddenly the things you thought you always wanted don’t fit the same anymore.
For a while, I tried to hold on. I tried to make old dreams work in a life God was clearly moving me out of. And when those dreams started to fall apart, it felt like loss. Not just the loss of a plan — but the loss of who I thought I was supposed to be.
But here’s the truth I’m learning in real time:
When God lets something fade, it’s because He’s making room for something new.
I didn’t lose myself… I outgrew a version of me that couldn’t carry where God is taking me next.
The dreams I used to run after don’t hold the same weight anymore. My heart is in a different place now. My priorities look different. My purpose feels deeper. And even though I don’t have every detail figured out, there is a peace in knowing God is shaping dreams that align with who I am becoming — not who I used to be.
Dreams aren’t failures when they change.
They’re evidence that God is still working.
Still guiding.
Still rewriting the parts of your story you didn’t know needed healing.
And maybe… just maybe… the dream you’re afraid to let go of is the very thing keeping you from the one God is trying to place in your hands.
💭 Reflection
What dream have you been holding tightly to?
Is it possible that God is shifting your desires to make room for something better?
🙏🏽 Prayer
Lord, help me release anything that no longer aligns with Your purpose for my life. Give me peace when old dreams fade and faith to trust the new ones You’re forming. Lead me into the future You’ve written for me. Amen.
