Day 26|Refined by his Grace:The Long Road of Healing

💎 Day 26: The Long Road of Healing

Healing is one of those journeys you never expect to take. Nobody plans for their life to change overnight — for their body, their mind, or their stability to shift so quickly that “normal” becomes a memory. I know that feeling. When everything familiar fell apart for me — health, routine, confidence, the rhythm of my days — I kept thinking it was temporary. I told myself I’d bounce back. I told myself this was just a pause.

But the pause turned into weeks… then now a month. And somewhere along the way, I realized healing wasn’t a detour — it was a road I have no choice but to walk.

What surprises me more than anything is how slow it feels. How some days I wake up strong and other days I felt like I have to fight for air. Healing isn’t a straight line, and I have to accept that my progress doesn’t always look like progress.

One morning, I noticed something I had never paid attention to before: the ten lepers were healed as they went. Not instantly. Not in a moment. But step by step. Something about that comforted me. Something about that made me think, “Okay Lord… even if I’m crawling today, You can still heal me as I go.”

Some days, healing feels like movement. Other days, it feels like stillness. But God is in both.

And that’s the part that is carrying me — the truth that God doesn’t heal from a distance. He sits with us. He walks with us. He stays close on the days we feel broken, and He doesn’t get impatient when we don’t bounce back as fast as we want to.

Healing is not just physical. It’s emotional. It’s spiritual. It’s relational. It’s the slow restoration of trust — trust in God, trust in yourself, trust that life can still be beautiful even after it has been shaken.

There were mornings I feel discouraged. And still, God met me. Not always with answers, but with peace. Sometimes peace is the progress.

Healing is sacred because God is in every mile of it. And if you look closely, grace is marking your path — even if the steps are small.

📖 Scripture

“So when He saw them, He said to them, ‘Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.”

-Luke 17:14

💭 Reflection

Where have you noticed even the smallest signs of God healing you lately — a calmer thought, a lighter moment, an easier breath?

🙏🏾 Prayer

Gentle Healer, thank You for walking this long road with me.

Help me trust the process even when progress feels slow.

Restore my strength, my peace, and my joy.

Let every scar become a testimony of Your mercy.

Amen.
