💎 DAY 11 | Walking in Purpose:
The Courage to Say Yes
A Continued Walk of Grace- Series II
There are moments in our walk with God where purpose doesn’t whisper — it waits.
It waits for our response.
It waits for our surrender.
It waits for one brave word: yes.
Purpose will always ask something of you.
Sometimes it asks for your comfort.
Sometimes your certainty.
Sometimes even your reputation.
And most of the time, it asks before you feel ready.
I’ve learned that saying yes to God isn’t about confidence — it’s about trust. It’s releasing control when the next step isn’t clear yet. It’s choosing obedience when fear is loud and answers feel quiet. Saying yes means stepping forward while the ground is still forming beneath your feet.
There was a season when God began nudging my heart to share my story openly — not just the polished parts, but the real ones. The parts marked by healing, rebuilding, and learning how to walk again after being shaken. Everything in me wanted to stay hidden. Privacy felt safer. Silence felt easier.
I wrestled with Him.
“What if people misunderstand?”
“What if they judge me?”
“What if I’m not strong enough yet?”
But underneath the fear, there was a gentle, steady whisper I couldn’t ignore:
Tell them what I’ve done for you.
For weeks, I delayed. I asked for confirmation after confirmation, waiting for God to make it feel less scary. What I finally realized was this — obedience was the confirmation. The longer I waited, the heavier it felt. Purpose doesn’t disappear when ignored; it presses.
So one day, with a trembling heart, I said yes. I shared my testimony — unfiltered, imperfect, honest. I didn’t have a plan for the response. I just knew God asked, and I answered.
And then something beautiful happened.
Messages began coming in. People I didn’t know telling me they saw themselves in my words. That they felt less alone. That my story gave them hope. I remember sitting there, tears falling, realizing that my shaky yes had become someone else’s lifeline.
That’s when it clicked for me — our yes is never just about us.
All throughout Scripture, God moves through ordinary people who simply said yes.
Mary didn’t have a roadmap when she said, “Be it unto me according to Your word.”
Moses didn’t feel qualified standing at the burning bush.
Peter stepped out of the boat while the storm was still raging.
None of them had guarantees.
They had God.
Your yes doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it’s unseen. Sometimes it looks like reaching out, forgiving again, applying for something you’re unsure of, showing up when you’d rather hide, or staying when walking away feels easier.
Every yes shifts something in the unseen. Heaven responds to surrendered hearts.
Fear will always argue against obedience. It will remind you of your past, your weaknesses, your limitations. But God has never asked for perfection — only willingness. He doesn’t call the flawless; He equips the obedient.
Courage doesn’t mean you’re not afraid.
It means you move anyway.
When Peter stepped onto the water, the storm didn’t calm first. Faith doesn’t wait for fear to disappear — it trusts through the trembling. Your yes may shake, but God will steady it.
There is no such thing as a wasted yes. Even when the path is hard, it draws you closer to Christ. Every story of purpose begins with surrender — that moment when we say, “Here I am, Lord… use me.”
And today, maybe this is your moment.
🙏🏽 Scripture
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
💭 Reflection
What has God been asking you to say yes to lately?
What fear, doubt, or hesitation has been holding you back from obedience?
🙏🏽 Prayer
Lord, give me the courage to say yes — even when it scares me.
Help me trust You when I don’t see the full picture yet.
Remind me that You are faithful to equip what You call.
Use my obedience, no matter how small it feels, for Your glory.
Let my yes open doors that only You can open.
Amen.
